Student well-being
The Student Wellbeing team is the university-wide expert team dedicated to promoting student wellbeing. Based on the university's vision, the multi-year plan, and the national framework for student wellbeing, the team develops policy and implements projects. Student Wellbeing promotes an open culture in which (mental) wellbeing can be discussed, in close collaboration with students, counselors, faculty wellbeing officers, policymakers, and external partners.
The team organizes well-being-promoting events, training courses for supervisors and lecturers, and coordinates the first-year mentoring program and peer support initiatives. In addition, it works to improve the accessibility of help, promote expertise, social safety, and an inclusive learning environment. The goal: a healthy and resilient student community.
Student well-being also includes the POPcorner and the Meeting Point.
POPcorner The Hague offers an accessible meeting place in Beehive (0.10), open on weekdays from 12:00–16:00. Students can come here for coaching, workshops, social activities, and referrals. The POPcorner promotes academic success and well-being on Campus The Hague.
Meeting Point supports students who feel less at home in the university environment, with a special focus on refugee students, first-generation students, and students from the Caribbean part of the Kingdom and Suriname. It offers advice, guidance, and collaboration with internal and external partners, both in The Hague and Leiden.
