HOVO (University of the Third Age, U3A)

HOVO offers university-level courses for anyone aged 50 and over. This special form of education does not lead to a diploma and does not prepare students for professional practice. That is precisely why there is plenty of room for the interests of the student. HOVO courses are taken for pleasure, personal development, to keep up to date, and to train the brain.

Courses usually consist of six to twelve sessions for groups of 40 people on average. Many HOVO lecturers are (former) lecturers at Leiden University.
