The Project Management department (PMa) of the Real Estate directorate is responsible for constructing high-quality, future-proof and sustainable housing. In doing so, PMa implements the Long-Term Housing Plan of Leiden University. This involves projects in the context of campus development, conservation issues and making buildings more sustainable. In addition, the department anticipates emerging housing needs. A characteristic feature of the department is the wide variety of projects in which it is engaged: from large-scale new buildings to small-scale renovations.
One of the department’s core tasks is the provision of project management for the different building projects. The project managers supervise the projects from the design phase through to delivery. Throughout the project they are the point of contact for users and other stakeholders.
