Secretariat

The secretariat is the first point of contact for (internal) staff members and external parties. The secretariat is responsible for the daily management of the Institute for Area Studies. It handles general questions and can assist in all practical matters related to the institute.

The secretariat supports the staff members, the department chairs, and the Management Team (MT) regarding educational, research, and organisational matters. The Institute Manager (IM) leads the secretariat.

The activities of the secretariat include among other things:

  • Administrative support to the education and research of the institute;
  • Support for policy and decision-making;
  • Implementation of business operations (finance, human resources, IT and facilities);
  • General secretarial and administrative support of the institute.
