LAK Course office

The LAK Course Office organises courses in drama and theatre, singing, dance, literature, visual arts and photography. The aim of the LAK (Leids Academisch Kunstcentrum) is to offer students the opportunity for artistic development alongside their academic pursuits.

Courses are organised with Leiden University students in mind, but are also open to members of the general public aged 16 or older. Students and staff of Leiden University pay a reduced fee.

LAK courses are 12 weeks in duration and have a defined learning structure and aim. Courses are offered in two semesters:

  • September to December
  • February to June

The LAK also organises one-off workshops and masterclasses. Performing arts courses are often rounded off with a stage performance during the ‘LAKSuite’ final show.
