Responsibility of the office
The Office of the Rector supports the Rector Magnificus in his work and consists of:
- Head of the Cabinet
- Personal assistant to the Rector Magnificus
- Secretarial Office of the Executive Board
What does the office do?
- The Head of the Cabinet is responsible for:
- Academic ceremonies such as the Dies Natalis celebration and the opening of the academic year
- Contact with the Royal House, the Diplomatic Corps and national and foreign dignitaries
- Process for submitting proposals for the award and presentation of Royal honours and university medals to university staff
- Preparation for the appointment of (special) chairs and the appointment of professors
- The personal assistant supports the Rector in his work activities.
- The secretarial office manages the Executive Board’s calendar.
Position within the university
The Office of the Rector is part of the general administrative and legal affairs unit and reports directly to the Rector Magnificus.
